First, Foot 101 Education:
Feet are the foundation of our body. Yet, for such an important role feet are often mistreated, misunderstood and ignored - that is, until there’s a problem.
Feet are built to support us with 26 bones, 33 joints, 4 layers of muscle that create three arches. and thousands of sensory nerve endings,
The notion that feet need “support” is false and detrimental to proper foot function.
After a cast is removed say from your arm, the muscles have atrophied, gotten weaker and you usually go to physical therapy for mobility and strengthening.
Conventional shoes act like a cast on the foot. A tapered toe box squishes the toes together, an elevated heel shortens the achilles tendon and a thick layer of cushioning dampens important sensory information that should be telling you what your foot is walking on.
Finally, just as arches provide bridges with strength, conventional shoes that have arch support are actually weakening our feet by preventing the arch muscles from working as they are adapted to do.
So it makes sense that with weak, deformed feet there can be problems not only with the feet but throughout the body.

In this program, together we’ll determine the root causes of your foot pain and develop a customised, easy to follow program to get you on the path to building strong, mobile, pain-free feet. You may also discover that by fixing your feet, other parts of your body start to feel better as well such as knees, hip and low back. (That’s what happened with me!)

What you get: The first visit (1 hour) includes a comprehensive assessment as well as feedback and education. You will receive a customised program with techniques and exercises designed to address your specific issues. You will then follow the program for about 3-4 weeks until your next appointment. You will have access to me via email or text should you have any questions, etc
Follow-up visits (45 min) include a reassessment and program adjustments as needed as well as encouragement and accountability.
Should you choose to continue to work with me after you’ve completed the package you will be able to do so at the reduced rate of $90/hour.
